What are the most common reasons a visa application is denied?

Most denials are due to just a few issues:

• Insufficient financial proof, incomplete documents, or weak ties to home country (INA 214(b))

• Security/past-violation concerns (INA 221(g))

The most common reason for visa denial is INA 214(b), which usually means you need to better demonstrate both your financial ability to study, and your clear intent to return home after your academic program is completed.

  •  Weak ties to your home country, suggesting you may not return after your program completion (INA 214(b))
