How do I request an expedited visa interview?
If your program start date is approaching and no regular visa appointments are available, you can request an expedited appointment. First complete the DS-160, pay the visa fee, and book the earliest available regular appointment. When you are within 30 days of the academic program start date, you can submit an expedited request, with proof of why it’s needed.
The steps
Complete the DS-160 application.
Pay the visa application fee and the SEVIS fee.
Schedule the earliest available regular appointment.
When you are within 30 days of the start date on your I-20 form or DS-2019 form, submit the expedited request with clear proof of urgency (e.g., your program starts soon).
